Why Give?
During the 1990s and continuing to today, a smaller number of college students have been joining Greek organizations. Tau Delta Phi has not been immune. While the trend has recently reversed, undergraduate dues are no longer sufficient to cover the cost of operating Tau Delta Phi.
As a nonprofit organization, Tau Delta Phi's only sources of tax exempt support are member dues and grants received from the Tau Delta Phi Foundation. However, under current tax laws, many programs that are vital to Tau Delta Phi's success cannot be funded by the Foundation.
As the needs of our undergraduate chapters and support to graduate brothers continue to increase, so do the costs of maintaining an association of thousands of living members. As a result, Tau Delta Phi introduced it's annual giving campaign called "Brothers for Life." Your dontation will go along way to ensure the longevity of Tau Delta Phi and improve our services.
How Does Your Gift Help?
Just like any other association you join (Elks Lodge, Knights of Columbus, etc.) donations help maintain the strength of the organization. Specifically, the Fraternity will use your donation to strengthen the following:
- Chapter rush/recruitment practices
- Expanding to new schools and reviving dormant chapters
- Executive Council visits to chapters
- Fair tax treatment for chapter housing
- Alumni relations
- Magazine and website development
- Grand Chapter and annual programming
The goal of donations from graduate brothers is not simply the money. It is to enhance existing programming and to develop new programs to meet the strategic aims of the organization which currently include:
- Member Growth
- Financial Stability
- Educational Programming
- Graduate Development
- Housing
