Alumni
As an alumnus of Tau Delta Phi, you never lose your connection, especially with your own chapter. Alumni are merely graduated brothers. They have moved on to the next phase of life and are husbands, community leaders, or even fathers. Alumni, however, are still brothers of Tau Delta Phi Fraternity. It is with this, that we ask you to come back to Tau Delta Phi and chip in where you can. The backbone of any chapter, and the Fraternity as a whole, begins with the alumni. You are our foundation and we are not a true brotherhood without your involvement. As a graduated brother you have the experience and knowledge that has been afforded to you by your decision to become a brother. It is this knowledge and experience that we would like you to pass on. You can provide valuable leadership roles that can shape the direction of our Fraternity. Through guiding, assisting, and motivating our young brothers, you will be contributing to the social development of the next generation of Fraters.
Volunteer
Tau Delta Phi is always looking for volunteers willing to give their time for the greater good of the Fraternity. There are several volunteer positions open and available at different levels of the Fraternity. Whether you are looking to work within the Executive Council, a committee of the Fraternity, or your chapter's House Corporation there are positions available. See our list below with some of the volunteer positions we have open.
Committee Member
Tau Delta Phi has several committees which are tasked to concentrate on specific areas of the Fraternity. The Fraternity currently has the Expansion, Convention, Bylaws, Technology, and Publications Committees. The Expansion Committee heads up our Fraternity's expansion efforts at new schools and identifying the next area to persue. Our Convention Committee is currently working to plan our 2008 National Convention to be held in Savannah, GA. The Bylaws committee is meeting regularly to ensure that our Fraternity Bylaws are up to date and consistent. The Technology Committee supersivises the Fraternity's technological aspects, including this website. And our Publications Committees is working to provide all of our brothers with the materials necessary to keep them regularly updated through newsletters, mailings, and our administrative guide, The Polaris. Each committee is always looking for new members to lend a hand and offer their ideas to the group.
Alumni Advisor
Each chapter has an alumnus which is designated as its Alumni Advisor. This alumnus is the liason between the chapter and the Executive Council. He oversees the chapter's work throughout the year and periodically reports its progress to the Executive Council. More often than not, the Alumni Advisor is a member of the chapter which he is working with, however, that is not always the case. Alumni Advisors are important to chapters because they are there to help the chapter work towards its goals and give the chapter feedback from the Executive Council.
Tau Delta Phi Management Company & Chapter House Corporations
Tau Delta Phi Fraternity owns 100% of the shares of its for-profit arm, the Tau Delta Phi Management Company. The board of the Management Company is appointed by the Executive Council and is always looking to expand. The Management Company supervises the operations of and aides each Chapter House Corporation to provide each chapter with the best living situation it can. Each House Corporation has an alumni Board of Directors as well. These alumni are all responsible for a great deal and are always looking to find new board members willing to chip in.
Member of the Board
Members of the Board are those members of the Executive Council who serve the needs of the Grand Officers, and help each Grand Officer fulfill their role in the Fraternity. Members of the Board receive the same voting rights as National Officers, but are elected to only one year terms (where Grand Officers serve two year terms).
